The fort was built in 13th century by the Kakatiya Kings and after that it has been modified by many rulers. It is located just 11 km from Hyderabad at the western end of the city. It is the most popular and magnificent structures of the region; therefore you can see tourists all over the year here. You would not believe that originally the fort was built with mud, and later it is improved to a magnificent edifice with stones and granite. The present architecture was modified by Qutb Shahi dynasty.

The monument has eight gates, 87 bastions, four drawbridges and a circumference of about 7 km. Therefore, ytiful palace, royal apartments and halls, mosque, stables and armory in the fort as well. The fort is open daily except Monday from morning 9 am to evening 5 pm. Brilliant acoustic is one of the most noteworthy features of this fort. It is said that if you clap at the gate of the structure, the sound can be clearly heard at the highest point of the fort, which is Bala Hissar, approximately 1 km away. The other famous buildings you can visit in the fort are Habshi Kamans, Nagina Bagh, Ambar Khana, Taramati Mosque, Mortuary Bath, Ashlah Khana, etc.You can deny that how gigantic the building is. The fort has a spectacular military architecture and thus makes it one of the best defensive and protective buildings of its time. The complex actually has four forts with around 10 km of an outer wall through it. The main gate for entry is known as Fateh Darwaza, which means The Victory Gate. It was named over the triumphant army of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Two elaborate pavilions located outside the fort named as, The Premathi Nritya Mandir and Taramathi Gana are also very popular among tourists.

Ajanta and Ellora Caves are recognised worldwide as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Located in the middle of northern Maharashtra, they are carved into hillside rock. There are total of 63 caves out of which 34 are in Ellora and 29 In Ajanta. These caves are dating between 6th and 11th centuries AD and 2nd century BC and 6th century AD. Ajanta caves are basically Buddhist whereas Ellora caves are a mixture of Buddhist, Hinduism and Jainism.

Ajanta caves remain closed on Mondays whereas Ellora caves on Tuesday. But the good news is that both the caves are open on National Holidays. Caves open at 9 am in the morning and close around 5:30 pm in the evening. These caves are crafted by hands who too with hammer and chisel only.

Other than Ajanta and Ellora caves, you can go to visit Elephanta caves, which are on the coast of Mumbai. These are again hand carved caves somewhat similar to Ajanta and Ellora. The caves are seven in numbers. It is believed that they date back from 450 to 750 AD. You can see different sculpture of Lord Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. These caves remain closed on Mondays. You can take an auto rickshaw from the Gateway of India, which is in Colaba, Mumbai.

Our next attraction is Badami which is in Karnataka.These caves are famous for its fascinating temples. There are four temples in the caves, out of which one is devoted to Lord Shiva, two are devoted to Lord Vishnu and one is a Jain Temple.
